5.0 Conclusions and Recommendation
Based on laboratory results, current regulatory guidelines, and the judgment of Shaw, the
following conclusions and recommendations are offe ed.
• The soil samples collected from the site. were reported to contain O&G and heavy
metals. The samples were not reported to contain TPHg, TPHd, VOCs, BTEX,
fuel oxygenate compounds, ethanol/methanol, SVOCs, chlorinated hydrocarbons,
or organochlorine pesticides.
[ # The O&G detected in the soil samples may originate from the leach system. The
reported concentrations are not considered to be high.
• Soil samples collected from the site were reported to contain chromium, lead,
nickel, and zinc. The soil samples i ere not reported to contain cadmium or
hexavalent chromium. None of the detected heavy metals were present at
concentrations that exceeded EPA, Region 9, industrial soil PRGs, TTLC values, or
ten-times the respective STLCs. It is unlikely that the soil, should it become a
waste, would be considered a hazardous waste.
lF
• Based on the soil results, the levels do not appe_ar.'to,pose a threat, and no further
rassessment or remedial action is warranted._
Recommend a closure of the leachfield.
F
F
F4,
i
N.-L acDPL00031Pr11831835444.3ac.doc 5.1
