INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. John Fukumoto'of the City of Stockton,Advanced GeoErivironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE)has prepared this report for additional site assessment activities conducted at the Van Buskirk ` <br /> ' Golf Course maintenance facility (site) located at 1740 Houston Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1).This report presents the methodology and results of soil and ground water and soil <br /> stockpile assessment activities performed,at the site. The investigation was conducted iwaccordance <br /> with AGE's 14.September 1998 Additional Soil and Ground Water Assessment Work Plan and <br /> subsequent 17 December 1998 Work Plan Addendum,asapproved by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services -Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD). <br /> The purpose of the investigation was to evaluate the extent.of petroleum hydrocarbon impacts to soil <br /> ' and ground water related to the former operation of gasoline and diesel underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs).at the site.The additional site assessment was conducted as,required by the PHS-EHD. This <br /> report was prepared in accordance with PHS-EHD and Central Valley Regional Water Quality <br /> ' .. . , Control Board(CVRWQCB) guidelines;for the,investigation of UST sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> ' The'Van Buskirk Golf Course is located in the incorporated City of Stockton (Figure.l): The golf <br /> course is situated along the south side of Houston Avenue and is bound on the east by-Interstate 5, <br /> Walker Slough"to the south,and open-space to the west. The maintenance facility is located on the <br /> ' south central portion of the golf course. . <br /> ' 2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The maintenance facility site consists of a maintenance 'shop structure; storage shed, and open <br /> ' storage'area(Figure 2).The facility formerly operated two fuel USTs and associated fuel dispensers. <br /> The USTs formerly located at the site consisted of a 550-gallon gasoline tank and a 1,000-gallon <br /> diesel tank.. <br /> 2.2. PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> Information regarding previous investigations conducted at the site was obtained from The Twining <br /> Laboratory's Site Characterization.report (Twining, 1997).
