Advanced
. 'GeoEnvironmental,
19 November 2001 N 0 V 19 2001
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0468IV1PG1 ;vM I i: EALTH
PER i'i'/0kIERIQCS
Mr. Jeffrey Wong
San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD)
304 E. Weber Avenue, Third Floor,
Stockton, CA 95202
'Subject: Work Plan Addendum
VAN BUSKIRK GOLF COURSE
1740 Houston Avenue, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Wong:
Pursuant to our 11 October 2001 meeting, this letter amends Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc'.'s
Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, dated 21 November 2001 and approved by the PHS-EHD
by letter dated 04 August 2000. The additional scope of work is proposed in response to data
collected from well MW-6 at the site, and to complete the vertical assessment of dissolved methyl
tertiary butyl ether(MTBE) within the upper-ground water aquifer.
Two soil borings are proposed.for grab ground water sampling.-The borings will be established in
accordance with the procedures approved in the referenced work plan.Further, depth-discrete ground .
water monitoring wells, may be established within the soil borings in accordance with the procedures
approved in the referenced work plan. One boring will be established near well MW-6 and the other
near MW-7. Analysis of the samples will be in accordance with the approved work plan. The
additional scope of work entails: establishment of two soil borings to 50 feet below surface grade;
collection of.two grab, "in-situ" ground water samples at 50 feet bsg from the borings, utilizing a
hydro-punch sampler; obtaining analytical results from the grab ground water samples in 24-hour
analysis of sampling and tentative completion of the borings as ground water wells. If ground water
samples collected at 50 feet bsg do not contain detectable concentrations of MTBE, then one well
will be established near well MW-6, to a depth of 55 feet bsg with five feet of screen.
If MTBE is detected in either of the ground water samples from 50 feet bsg, both soil borings will
be advanced to a depth of 65 feet bsg, re-sampled and analyzed within a 24-hour period. If ground
water below well MW-7 at 50 feet bsg is impacted, then an additional soil boring will be established
in the down gradient direction(north) to re-sample the 50 feet bsg interval. A 50-foot well will be
installed in the boring near well MW-7 if only, the MW-6 area boring contains dissolved MTBE at
50 feet bsg.
If ground water samples collected at 65 feet bsg do not contain detectable concentrations of MTBE,
then one well will be established near well MW-6, to a total depth of 65 feet bsg, with five feet of
screen. -
837 Shaw Road,Stockton, California 95215
Telephone (209) 467-1006 FAX(209) 467-1118.
