• Quarterly Report -Second Quarter 2001
VAN BUSKIRK GOLF COURSE FACILITY
' 1740 Houston Avenue, Stockton, California
' 1.0: INTRODUCTION
At the request of the City of Stockton,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared this
' report for a quarterly ground water monitoring event for the Van Buskirk Golf Course maintenance
facility(site) located at 1740 Houston`Avenue, Stockton, California (Figure,1),
' The scope of work included monitoring and sampling of ground water from six ground water
monitoring wells. The purpose of the ground water monitoring program is to monitor site ground
' water for seasonal variation in elevation, gradient and flow direction, and to assess the impact of
petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenating compounds on ground water beneath the site.
' Site background information was summarized in the'AGE-prepared Additional Soil and Ground
Water Assessment Work Plan, dated 31 July 2000, which was approved by the PHS-EHD by letter
dated 04 August 2000.
' This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established in Appendix A to Tri Regional
Recommendations - Reporting, dated 30.August 1991, prepared by the Central Valley Regional
, . Water Quality Control Board (Appendix A- Reports) for the investigation of UST sites.
t2.0. PROCEDURES
The work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
' Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) guidelines for ground water monitoring well sampling
and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board guidelines for investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites.
' 2.1. MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 12 June 2001, a ground water monitoring event was conducted at the site. The ground water
' monitoring activities included measurement of ground water levels and collection of ground water,.
samples from site monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8. A solinst water level meter was used to
measure the depth to ground water in each well relative to the tops of the well casings.
' After ground water depth measurements were collected, monitoring wells MW-3 through MW-8
were purged using a disposal bailer. At the request of the City of Stockton and on approval of the '
PHS-EHD wells MW-I and MW-2 were not sampled. Approximately 3 to 14 gallons of water were
evacuated from each of the monitoring wells (a minimum three casing water volumes), as
appropriate for each well. Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals,
' Advanced GeolEnvironmental,Inc.
