Hutchins Street, Lodi (Site) . The. <br /> Department of Toxin Substances Control (DISC) believes <br /> ghat the "no further action" determination shout not <br /> be made for the .re.48049 described below. <br /> The Site has been investigated for, the petroleum.. <br /> Cbnta.mina'tion found in. toils and groundwater beneath <br /> the Site> since 1991.. :Five shallow groundwatet: <br /> monitoring wells (MW) have been installed ori. and off <br /> the Site and groundwater samples have been collected. <br /> for analyses o.f limited volatile organic compounds <br /> (VoCs): : total ;petroleum hydrocarbons, benzene, toutlene,- <br /> ethylberinzene, xylenes, MTBE„ 1,2-dichloroethane <br /> trichloroethene (TCE) , tetrachl.oroethene (PCE) , and: <br /> 1, 2-dichloroethene (DCE) . Copies of the groundwater' <br /> quality data collected from July 1992 through July 199`6 <br /> were sent to DTSC £ar :review and evaluation by <br /> Mr. James Brathovde of' the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality tonbrol on October 2, 1996.. <br /> Upon review and evaluation of the groundwater <br /> data, DTSC has determined that the Site may be a source <br /> for the DCA detected in the groundwater. Elevated <br /> levels of DCA as high as 86 microgram per liter (ug/1) <br /> were detected in the monitoring well (MW#1) located in <br /> the southwest corner of the Site.. Elevated levels of <br /> DCA as high as 41 ug/l were detected in an upgradient <br /> well (MW#5) located to the north of Site. The <br /> monitoring well (MW43) located between MW#1 and MW##5 <br /> was found to contain a DCA value as high as 32 ug/l. <br /> The groundwater data indicates that past operations <br /> �s <br /> % <br />
