ENVIRONMENTAL HE.AITH
Federal;Deposit Insurance Corporation PERMIT/SERVICES
P.O. Box 7549
Newport Beach,,California 92658-7549
Attention: Mr. Brett Williams
Subject: FORMER TEXACO SERVICE STATION SITE f ,
305 HUTCHINS AVENUE
LODI,CALIFORNIA
ADDENDUM WORKPLAN FOR ADDITIONAL
SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT`
Dear Mr, Williams-.
In accordance with the September 12, 1994 verbal request of Mr. Brett Williams with the Federal
Deposit-Insurance Corporation(FDIC), Geocon Envirronmental.Consultants is pleased to submit
this Addendum"Workplan"for additional soil and groundwater assessment at the subject site. The
site consists of a Togo's restaurant located at 305 South Hutchins Street in Lodi, California (see
Vicinity Map, Figure 1)..
BACKGROUND
To aid in preparing_ this "Workplan," representatives of Geocon reviewed the "Interim
Environmental Assessment Report,"prepared for the subject site by Geocon, dated August 31, 1994,
and discussed the project site with Mr. Michael Infurna of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Division (SJCEHD) on September 29, 1994.
Information presented in the referenced"Interim"report indicates that the northeaster portiOn of
the site was formerly occupied by a small service station from at least 1926 to 1957. The site was
redeveloped in 1957 as a Douglas Gail and subsequent Texaco service station which was razed in
1980. It is reported that the 1957 redevelopment involved the installation of three 143,000-gallon
gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated product delivery lines and fuel
dispensers. Our review of an undated City of Lodi aerial photograph suggests that the fuel
dispensers were looted within the eastern portion of the site. The existing restaurant site
improvements were reportedly constructed in 1980. The approximate locations of the farmer and
existing site, improvements are depicted on the Site Plan, Figure 2.
It is understood that three 10,000-gallon gasoline UST&Were removed from the western portion of
11333 5unco Drim
Slide 1{317
Rancho Comkim CA 96742
(916)X5,52-9118
FAX(916)852-9132
