1C <br /> Project No S8080-06-01 <br /> July 7, 1994 <br /> General Hygiene Requirements <br /> - Eating, drinking, chewing gum or tobacco, smoking, or any practice that increases <br /> the probability of hand-m-mouth transfer and ingestion of material is prohibited in <br /> any area designated as being potentially impacted by hazardous materials/wastes <br /> (Exclusion Zone -see section entitled, "WORK ZONES") <br /> - Hands and face must be thoroughly washed upon leaving the work area, and before <br /> eating, drinking, or other non-project activities <br /> Kneeling, sitting, leaning, or general contact with contaminated surfaces, or with <br /> surfaces suspected of being contaminated (i e ,puddles, mud, leachate, etc ) should <br /> be avoided <br /> Medicine and alcohol can potentiate the effects of exposure to toxic chemicals <br /> Prescribed drugs should not be taken by personnel if the likelihood of such <br /> potentiation effects exists Ingestion of alcohol is prohibited <br /> HAZARD EVALUATION <br /> . To attempt to perform the subject field activities in a manner that is safe and in <br /> compliance with applicable laws and regulations, a preliminary hazard evaluation was <br /> performed to identify the existing site conditions This evaluation was based on the <br /> following <br /> - Identification of the suspected hazardous materials/wastes onsite, <br /> Toxicological aspects of the suspected hazardous materials/wastes onsite, <br /> Suspected contaminant concentrations within the various media onsite, <br /> - Topographical hazards, <br /> Operational hazards, and <br /> Climatic extremes <br /> Page 6 <br />
