I � <br /> Project No S8080-06-02 <br /> May 5, 1995 <br /> ' PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT <br /> 10 BACKGROUND " <br />' I 1 Site Location and History <br /> The former Texaco service station site is currently a Togo's restaurant located at 305 South <br /> Hutchins Street, Lodi, California (see Vicinity Map, Figure 1) <br /> Geocon reviewed Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, City of Lodi aerial photographs, Douglas Oil <br />' Company site plans and other photographs from unidentified sources to evaluate the history of UST <br /> operation at the site <br /> Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps dated 1926 and 1950 indicate that the site is occupied by a structure <br /> identified by "Gas & Oil " The approximate 15-foot wide by 25-foot long structure is situated at <br />' an approximate 45 degree angle to the adjacent intersection The structure was located <br /> approximately 20 feet south of West Lodi Avenue (formerly Sargent Road) and 10 feet west of <br /> South Hutchins Street A photograph from an unidentified source, dated October 1956, depicts a <br /> service station structure with an automobile repair bay and two motor vehicle fuel dispensers located <br />' within the northern portion of the site No information was obtained relative to the removal or <br /> current status of the motor vehicle fuel dispensing system <br /> I <br /> City of Lodi Building Department records indicate that a permit was issued to Douglas Oil Company <br /> of California in June 1957 for the construction of a service station at the site Construction of the <br /> station began in July 1957 and final construction inspection was received in October 1957 Review <br />' of a Douglas Oil Company site map dated April 1968 depicts the existence of three USTs located <br /> in the southern portion of the site and three pump islands,covered by a canopy roof located along <br /> the eastern portion of the site <br /> I <br /> -4- <br /> lig <br /> I ii i I <br />
