Locate emergency shut-off switch <br /> 5. Locate water shut-off valve <br /> Safety Plan Review <br /> 1 Review chemical hazards (PELs) and exposure limiting controls <br /> • air in breathing zones will be monitored (Level C OVs > 300 ppm) <br /> • no eating, drinking, smoking and chewing while in the work area <br /> • work gloves should be worn in the work area <br /> 2 Identify physical hazards <br /> • traffic <br /> • burns <br /> • noise (CAL-OSHA PEL is 90 dB) <br /> • visibility, hearing and dexterity (may be impaired by PPE) <br /> 3 Be aware of heat stress if temperature >80 dgrees farenheit <br /> 4 Identify possible fire hazards and electrical hazards <br /> 5 Review PPE Level D to be worn at all tunes <br /> • steel toe boots <br /> safety glasses <br /> • hard hat <br /> • long pants <br /> • impermeable gloves and long sleeves may be required <br /> b Modified Level C PPE should be available at all times <br /> • half-face respirator with organic vapor cartridges (to be used if organic <br /> vapors > 300 ppm) <br /> • Hearing protection <br /> 7 Review site control plan (decontamination & exclusion zones) <br /> 8 All field personnel should have completed 40-hour OSHA-SARA <br /> training <br /> 9 All field personnel should be in their company's Medical Surveillance <br /> program <br /> 10. Review emergency procedures and directions to nearest hospital <br />
