San Joaquin/ARCO Meeting Minutes, March 30, 1993 Working To Restore Nature
containing TOG (detected by gravimetric) to evaluate if the detected TOG
is in fact petroleum based.
o Mary also asked if additional assessment will be performed in the vicinity of
the pump islands, specifically in the area of B-13 which contained TPHg at 11
ppm and benzene at 0.012 ppm in te 45-foot sample. RESNA stated that
the detected concentration was likely) residual hydrocarbons transported on
the ground-water surface. This is supported by the depth to ground water in
the nearby well MW-3 has been measured to 45.7 ft bsg (March 18, 1992).
Mary still wants to see further assessment in this area. RESNA informed SJ
that the detected concentrations in this area do not warrant additional
assessment. ARCO told SJ that RFSNA will present additional information
gathered in this area to evaluate if an additional investigation is actually
warranted. The information will be resented in an upcoming work plan for
the installation of one vapor-extraction well.
o Mary stated that while she was overseeing the recent drilling operation, she
observed head space in selected samples collected by the onsite geologist.
Diane Hinson indicated that this subject had been previously brought up by
Linda Terkatte and RESNA would address this matter.
ARCO SS No. 2076, East Kettleman ne LUD di '
o Mary Meays requested data collected from the most recent investigation
conducted at the site. RESNA informed SJ that a Preliminary Investigation
and Evaluation Report has been prepared which will be submitted shortly
following ARCO's review. RESNA summarized the results of the recent
investigation, stating that hydrocarbons have been delineated and are present
in soil in the vicinity of the former USTs (to a depth of less than 31 ft bsg)
and product dispenser islands (to approximately 6 ft bsg). Hydrocarbons were
not detected in ground-water samples collected from the newly installed
monitoring wells.
o SJ indicated that this site is not a high priority.
8
