' 17 April 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 99-0624
southerly flow around the eastern half Figure 2 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as
' measured on 05 March 2001
' 3 2 LABORATORY RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-g and MTBE were detected in ground water samples
collected from monitoring wells MW-1,MW-2 and MW-3
' TPH-g was detected at concentrations as high as 570 micrograms per liter (µg/1) in the sample
collected from MW-2, benzene and xylene compounds were detected at concentrations as high as
58 µg/l and 3 5 lcg/l respectively
' MTBE was detected in samples from all three monitoring wells at concentrations of 2 1 gg/1(1\4W-
1), 2,700 gg/1 (MW-2) and 25 gg/1 (MW-3)
' Analytical results of the ground water samples for the first quarter - 2001 monitoring event are
summarized on Table 2 The laboratory report (MAI Laboratory ID 61687-61689), QA/QC and
'• chain-of-custody are included in Appendix B
' 4.0. SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS `
The following conclusions were drawn from the results of the site investigation
•' r
The average depth to ground water and ground wife elevation on 05 March 2001 in
' monitoring wells on-site was approximately 51 feet below surface grade and 12 0 feet below
MSL, respectively
• The inferred, ground water gradient on 05 March 2001 was calculated to be 0 002 ft/ft
' towards the southwest and south
• TPH-g was detected in ground water samples from monitoring wells MW-1 to MW-3, the
' highest concentration was detected in the sample collected fromMW-2 at 570 '4g/l, a
significant decline from a high of 8,900 gg/l detected in May 2000
' • Various BTEX compounds were detected in the water samples collected from all four
monitoring wells, the MW-2 sample had the highest cohoentratlons
• Utilizing EPA Method 8260M, MTBE was detected at concentrations of 2,700 µg/1 and 25
' µg/1 inground water samples from MW-2 and MW-3, respectively MTBE at 2 1 µg11 was
also detected for the first time in the sample collected from MW-1
' Advanced GcoEnvaronmental,Inc
