GRA YLAND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING SERVICES <br /> August 4, 1998 g <br /> 022-200 <br /> 1 <br />' Mr Michael Walton <br /> Walton Engineering, Inc <br /> P O Box 1025 <br />' West Sacramento, California 95691 <br /> Subject Underground Storage Tank Removal Report <br />' Flame Liquor, 1301 West Kettleman Lane, Lodi, California <br /> Dear Mr Walton <br />' At the request of Walton Engineering,Inc ,of West Sacramento,California,Grayland Environmental <br /> (Grayland) has prepared this Underground Storage Tank Removal Report for the Flame Liquor <br />' property (site) located at 1301 West Kettleman Lane in Lodi, California (Figure 1) A registered <br /> geologist from Grayland arrived at the site on June 30, 1998, to assist with the removal of three <br /> underground storage tanks Grayland collected individual soil samples for laboratory testing from <br />' beneath each of the former underground fuel storage tanks and from beneath each end of the former <br /> fuel dispenser island Grayland also collected five soil sample composites from the soil stockpiles <br /> generated during the tank removal work <br /> I <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The site was occupied by Flame Liquor(convenience store), which stored three grades of unleaded <br /> gasoline in underground storage tanks for retail sale The three underground storage tanks had <br /> capacities of approximately 10,000 gallons each and were situated side by side on the western-half <br />' of the property(Figure 2) Fill ports were located at the northern ends of the underground storage <br /> tanks, fuel dispensers were located immediately adjacent to and south of the three storage tanks <br /> Former underground product delivery pipelines were located along the southern side of the tank <br /> excavation The single-wall,carbon steel underground storage tanks did not have overfill protection <br /> and were not wrapped The underground storage tanks apparently were installed during the 1970's <br /> The surface of the site was covered predominantly with asphaltic-concrete and concrete, with a <br /> subordinate area of exposed soil in landscaped planters The 4,960 square-foot, concrete block <br /> convenience store was situated near the northeastern corner of property(Figure 2) At the time <br /> of our field work, much of the asphaltic-concrete surface had been removed from in front of the site <br /> building and a new car wash was under construction at the western edge of the site <br /> TANK REMOVAL <br /> IOne fuel island containing a total of six fuel dispensers was removed from the area immediately south <br /> of the underground storage tank excavation(Figure 2) The fuel dispenser piping and underground <br /> I2731 Quail Street Davis, California 956.16 (530) 756-1441 <br /> 1 August A,1998 <br /> Grayland 022-200 tri <br />
