' 02 February 2004
AGE-NC Project No 99-0624
' 9 Utilizing EPA Method 8260B,MTBE was detected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3 and
MW-7 at concentrations as high as 7,500 µg/l (MW-2) The MTBE concentrations were
above the Primary MCL of 13 gg/l in drinking water
' The detection of MTBE (16 gg/1) in the ground water sample collected from well MW-7
Indicates that the vertical extent of MTBE-impacted ground water has not been defined
' a The lateral extent of MTBE-Impacted ground water has not been defined to the east and
south of the UST area An Iso-concentration map depicting the approximate distribution of
dissolved MTBE is presented in Figure 8
' & The elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in samples collected from
well MW-2 Indicate that this well is within or near the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon
"core area" of the on-site plume
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
• Based on the findings of this Investigation, AGE recommends
• Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program The next monitoring event
' was performed in December 2003
• Installation of the proposed off-site ground water monitoring well, that could not be
completed during the July 2003 drilling activities, to assess the lateral extent of
IMTBE-impacted ground water
• Performance of a receptor survey to locate potential receptors within 2,000 feet of the site
• Preparation of a feasibility studies report to evaluate soil and ground water remediation
alternatives at the site
I
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing In this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (ie soil and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
' interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
