Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
1172 Kansas Avenue
Modesto,California 95351
(209)522-4119/Fax(209)522-4227
Work Plan
Soil Investigation
2811 East Fremont Street
Stockton, CA 95202
May 20, 2013
Project No. 2010.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This work plan proposes the installation of three (3) soil borings along the eastern border of
the subject property to determine if contamination originating inside the adjoining property
building has migrated onto the subject property.
2.0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
The soil borings GZA proposes will be drilled to a depth of 40 feet below grade surface
(bgs). Soil samples will be collected from each borehole and analyzed for volatile organic
compounds via EPA Method 8260B.
2.1 Soil Borings
The soil borings, SB-1 through SB-3, will be advanced in the locations indicated in Figure 2
(Proposed Borehole Locations Map). Prior to commencing work, a soil borings permit will
be secured and the County will be notified 48 hours in advance. The subsurface will be
cleared of underground utilities by notifying Underground Service Alert at least 72 hours
prior to drilling start.
The borings will be drilled using an 8-inch outside diameter continuous flight hollow stem
auger. Sample cores will be collected at 5 foot intervals. At the depth of 30 ft, we will start
continuous coring to identify the contact between the overlying sand & the underlying clay,
as seen in the attached cross section (refer to Appendix A, Sheet No. 6). Our goal is to
collect samples at the geologic boundary to determine if contaminant migration has occurred.
