The purpose of a job hazard analysis
(JHA) is to identify and quantify the health and safety hazards associated with each site task
and operation, and to evaluate the risks to workers. Using this information, appropriate
control methods are selected to eliminate the identified risks if possible, or to effectively control
them. The control methods are documented in each task-specific JHA. The information
contained in this chapter is essential to the effective preparation of all other chapters of the
HASP. This section includes:
• A Site description
• Job hazard analysis
• Hazardous substance information
• Employee notification of hazards
The organization responsible for ongoing hazard analysis at the site is ERS Corp.
3.0 JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS:
The hazards associated with this project will be analyzed with respect to the main tasks and
broken down into separate sections. There will be a detailed description of the scope of each of
the tasks. Each JHA lists the chemical hazards associated with that task and their known or
anticipated concentrations during performance of the task. Each JHA also identifies
anticipated physical or biological hazards and potential exposure or the likelihood of exposure.
The final section of each JHA lists the control measures implemented to protect employees
from exposure to the identified hazards. The information provided here is designed to satisfy
the job hazard analysis requirements of 1910.120(b)(4)(ii)(A) and the workplace hazard
assessment requirements of 1910.132(d).
Environmental Risk Services,Corp.
