1
' OVER EXCAVATION
SOM SAMPLING RESULTS
' D, Salvo Tr idk ft
1444 Lathrop Road
Lathrop, California
' Jane 21, 1994
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
' This report describes the over-excavation of petroleum
contaminated soil at the Di Salvo Trucking facility located at
1444 Lathrop Road in Lathrop, California as shown in Figure 1,
' Appendix A. The report was prepared by Condor Earth Technologies
Inc. (Condor) at the request of Mr. Keith Tallia, Oil Equipment
' Service (OES) , San Andreas, California. This report includes a
brief site history, a description of the field work, a discussion
' of the laboratory analyses and recommendations based on findings .
2.0 SITE HISTORY
Seven USTs were removed from the site by OES on August 11,
1993. The contents of the tanks were diesel, motor oil, and
waste oil. The former locations of the tanks are shown in Figure
' 2, Appendix A. Condor personnel were on site during the tank
removal to make field observations and collect soil samples .
Laboratory analysis detected 80 mg/kg diesel and 350 mg/kg motor
oil in the soil sample collected beneath the east end of TK4 at a
depth of 13 .5 feet below ground surface. Grey petroleum staining
was noted on the east sidewall at the fill (east) ends of TK3,
TK4, and TK5 to a depth of approximately 8 feet. Groundwater was
' not encountered during the tank removal.
IBased upon the results of laboratory analyses of soil
samples collected beneath the former tank locations, Condor
recommended over-excavation of the east sidewall near TK4. A
complete description of the tank removal and the results of
I m
 CONDOR
