i
i
Work Plan: Subsurface Investigation and Page 4
Remedial Excavation of Hydrocarbon-affected Soil
Proposed Cintra Park Phase II Development, Tract 2705, Tracy, California
June 17, 1997 CTE Job No. 10-2276
ITE SAFET
A site safety plan has been prepared for use during field activities associated with this phase of
the project. A copy of the site safety plan is appended to this workplan. The site safety plan will
be followed by contractors and subcontractors doing ork associated with this project. During
the mobilization phase Underground Services Alert wi 1 be contacted to have the utilities located
before the commencement of on-site activities. All underground and/or exposed utility lines will
be flagged and marked. Markers will be maintained tf,roughout the excavation process to protect
the utilities. Overhead lines and guy wires that may c ate a hazard will be flagged and marked.
The site is currently an active construction site with fencing to prevent unauthorized access to the
site. Before site activities, the excavation areas will be delineated and posted with appropriate
warning signs to prevent unauthorized entry of personnel and/or ignition sources. The excavation
area will be considered the Project Work Area.
A Gastech Model 400 gas monitoring device will be used to monitor ambient air and migration
of potential airborne volatile organic compounds. To mitigate potential vapor problems the
excavated soil will be kept moist.
ADDITIONAL WORK
It is anticipated that the need for site assessment will be based on soil and groundwater conditions
encountered during field work. Additional site assessment, if necessary, will be conducted
following analysis of data developed during this phase of field activities.
