The site is presently owned and occupied
by Laro Coal and Iron-California Co.,Inc and is the proposed location for a South San Joaquin Irrigation
District pump station and water tank. The purpose of this assessment is to obtain soil data through the
installation of soil borings and collection of soil samples. As shown on figure 1,ESA proposes to advance
five(5)borings at the site. The exact boring locations may vary and will depend on potential access
restrictions and observed`field conditions.
Soil borings will be advanced to approximately 6 to 7 feet below ground surface(bgs)using a 3-inch or 6-
inch hand auger. A soil sample will then be collected from each soil boring using a hand-operated drive-
sampler. Samples will be collected in a metal sleeve from the base of each boring. Following collection of
soil samples, borings will be backfilled from the bottom of the boring to the ground surface with a grout
mixture consisting of 95%Portland cement and 5%bentonite. Soil samples will then be placed in cool
storage prior to transportation to a state-certified analytical laboratory for chemical analyses.
If you require additional information or have questions, please call Ms.Crystal Stech at(916) 564.4500 or
Mr.Pete Hudson at(415)696.590
Since/udson
7
pe r
cc: Crystal Stech,ESA Sacramento
i
i
225 Bush Stm ,5uicr 1700 94104 (415)896-5900 (nx 89&0531 email csx.cfsarrac.com
Ji
