The work plan was submitted in <br /> response to the EHD letter dated May 21, 2008, directing the installation of one or more <br /> monitoring wells to delineate the lateral extent of the methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) plume <br /> down gradient and to the west of monitoring well MW-24. <br /> The EHD approves the work plan as submitted for the installation of monitoring well MW-27, <br /> located approximately fifty feet west of MW-24, as illustrated on Figure 2. MW-27 will be <br /> advanced to a total depth of twenty feet below ground surface (bgs) with a fifteen-foot screen <br /> interval between five and twenty feet bgs. Soil samples will be collected for soil characterization <br /> at five-foot intervals and selected soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); MTBE, ethyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary amyl methyl ether(TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) and <br /> di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB). <br /> Please submit a boring permit application and permit/inspection fee of $404 to EHD and <br /> complete the fieldwork by November 13, 2008. Notify EHD at least 72 hours prior to <br /> commencing the fieldwork so an inspector can be present.
