SITE CODE: 2251
425 Larch Road RO: 252
Tracy,CA 95376
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed 1006 3"d Quarter
Groundwater Monitoring Report dated November 27, 2006, and Well Installation Work Plan
dated November 14, 2006, submitted by Biophysics Environmental Assessments, Inc. (BEA) for
the above-referenced site on your behalf. Analytical results for groundwater samples collected in
September 2006 at shallow monitoring wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-8, and MW-9 support the need
to install additional monitoring wells to delineate the methyl tertiary-butyl etb& (MTBE)plume.
Therefore, EHD approves the work plan to install three additional shallow monitoring wells at
this site.
MW-24 will .be located approximately fifty feet west of MW-9; MW-25 will be located
approximately fifty feet northwest of MW-4; and MW-26 will be located approximately seventy
feet north/northwest of MW-2. All three monitoring wells will be advanced to total depths of
twenty feet below ground surface (bgs) with fifteen-foot screen intervals between five and twenty
feet bgs. Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals for soil characterization and selected
soil samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); MTBE, ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE),
tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) and di-isopropyl ether (DIPE),
1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA), and 1,2-dibromoethane (EDB).
Please submit a boring permit application and permit/inspection fee of$374 to EHD by February
28, 2007, and complete the fieldwork by March 16, 2007. Notify EHD at least 72 hours prior to
commencing the fieldwork. If you have any questions, please contact Vicki McCartney at (209)
468-3456 or by electronic mail at vmccartney@sjcehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS,Director
Environmental Health Department
Victoria L.McCartney, Senior REHS Nuel C.
