I EMERGENCY SERVICES
Figure I illustrates the location of the Frontier Transportation, Inc. property with respect to the Hospital. If
i an emergency should occur on-site, the Emergency Medical System (911 ) should be activated.
4.2 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBERS
Emergency telephone numbers shall be posted on-site and made immediately available at all times. These
numbers shall include the following:
Ll EMERGENCY:
Fire (209) 831 -4700
1 Ambulance 911
Police (209) 831 -4550
Emergency Rooms (see Figure 1 for Hospital Routes)
Tracy Urgent Care Medical Clinic (209) 832-8700
L San Bernardino Community Hospital (909) 988-9211
L BEA (Dave Blakely) (310) 833- 1910
Frontier Transportation (Paul Zumberge) (909) 517-2815
NON-EMERGENCY:
City Fire Department (209) 831 -4700
City Police Department (209) 831 -4550
L ) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (202) 260-2090
Emergency Spill Response 911
5. HAZARD ASSESSMENT
This hazard assessment is based on available information concerning chemical hazards known or suspected
(`J to be present at the Frontier Transportation, Inc. property. The potential risks to site workers are evaluated below.
1 . No danger exists from flammability no explosion since petroleum concentrations have been identified at
_ less than 1 % of the lower explosive limit of the most volatile constituent of the compound.
I
2. No significant risk of inhalation of petroleum vapors exist due to the extremely low levels identified and
the depth at which the concentrations were observed.
J4
I
5. 1 CHEMICAL EXPOSURE 5J3I
jSite workers may be exposed to the components of gasoline during fieldtivities, including drilling,
sampling and treatment operations. Potential exposure is to petroleum hydrocon-contaminated soil and water. At
present, the major expected site contaminants are benzene, toluene and xylene. A description of these chemicals can
be found in Table 1 . The routes of exposure for fuel hydrocarbons are ingestion, inhalation, skin absorption and eye
or skin contact. Measures shall be taken to eliminate personnel exposure through the use of personal protection
equipment when engineering controls are not feasible.
5:2 FIRE AND EXPLOSION
'i The risk of fire or explosion during site activities is present, though minimal. Toluene is considered
 I
I {
G1
