Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report
Frontier Transportation
4899-139
August 13, 1999
increase in MTBE concentrations in MW-1 located downgradient of the former USTs supports
lateral migration of MTBE to the west.
BEII recommends that additional groundwater monitoring wells be installed to determine
the lateral extent of dissolved MTBE to the west and south. A soil gas survey may need to be
conducted should the lateral extent of MTBE extend to the property boundaries. In addition,
BEII recommends that quarterly groundwater monitoring continue at the site until constant or
decreasing dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations are observed. Groundwater samples
will be analyzed for BTEX using EPA method 8020, TPH-g and TPH-d using EPA method
8015m, and oxygenates using EPA method 8260 in all future monitoring episodes as directed by
the PHS/EHD.
