S-1 and S-2 indicate that Y P g minimal concentrations of MTBE are present in soil below the location of the former ' product lines at a depth of 3 feet. The TPH-G, TPH-D, and BTEX concentrations in the soil samples collected from soil borings S-1 and S-2 were below the method detection limit. ' Analytical results for soil samples collected from soil borings B-1 through B-4 which were drilled within 3 to 18 feet of the former USTs location indicate that PPCs present in soil ' extend to groundwater. 5.3 Groundwater Conditions: On August 30, 1996, Twining purged and sampled monitoring wells MW-1 through MNV-3 at the site. Depth to water measurements were ' collected from the three monitoring wells before purging and are summarized in Table 6. Depth to groundwater measurements made during the monitoring event were used in ' conjunction with the well head elevation data to calculate groundwater elevations (Table 6). These elevations indicate that the groundwater flow direction in the vicinity of these wells on August 30, 1996 was toward the northwest (Drawing 6) with a gradient of approximately ' 0.002 feet per foot.
