7h3adweII&RoIIo
On 29 September 1999, Treadwell &Rollo collected groundwater samples from monitoring •
wells MW-3,MW-6,MW-7, MW-9, MW-10, MW-14, and MW-25. Monitoring well locations
are shown on Figure 6. Groundwater sampling data collected by Treadwell &Rollo is included
in Tables 5, 6, and 7.
No additional soil contamination was found at Area 16 during the 1999 Treadwell & Rollo
investigation. Significant groundwater contamination was encountered in four of the five
monitoring wells which were sampled as part of the investigation, three of which are located in
the immediate vicinity of a former UST excavation. With the exception of 4.76 ug/l of 1,2-
Dichloroethane detected at MW-14 (also detected during previous investigations), only fuel
hydrocarbons and non-chlorinated volatile organic compounds were detected, including TPH as
gasoline at up to 955 mg/l in well MW-3.
1.2.2.3 Area 21
Description
This area is referred to as the Crystal Creamery site at 404 West Fremont Street. The eastern
half of the site is currently being used as a dairy distribution center and is paved and covered
with buildings. The western half of the site is vacant and unpaved (Figure 7).
Site History
The site has been used as a dairy distribution facility since prior to 1965. The site is currently
under the oversight of the SJCEHD. A 10,000 gallon capacity UST used for gasoline was
removed on 3 September 1986 and found to have leaked.
•
14
25970309.DGD 24 August 2000
