7kadwell&Rollo
2.1.4.2 Treadwell & Rollo Quality Control
Treadwell & Rollo QA/QC personnel, and a subcontracted data validation firm, Dataval Inc.
reviewed data provided by the laboratory with regard to analytical methodology, detection limits,
holding times, blank samples, and accuracy and precision. Data review checklists prepared by
Dataval are included in Appendix D. Appropriate qualifiers for analytical results from Curtis &
Tompkins and Dataval have been included in the analytical summary tables.
2.2 Field Investigation at Operable Unit 1
2.2.1 Area 10
On 17 and 18 April 2000, Spectrum drilling used their direct push rig to advance 23 soil borings
at the locations shown on Figure 2. The borings were advanced to between 3 and 15 feet.deep
for soil sampling. Boring logs are presented in Appendix B. On 6 June 2000 Treadwell & Rollo
returned to the site and advanced four 3 foot deep borings with a hand auger and collected soil
samples for soluble metals analyses. Two borings were advanced adjacent to boring I OB-7 •
(I013-7aand IOB-7b) and two were advanced adjacent to boring 1013-19 (1OB-19a and 1OB-19b).
Analytical results for soil are listed on Tables 1 through 4.
Borings 10-B-3, 10-B-6, 10-B-9, and 10-B-16 were advanced to approximately 28 feet deep to
obtain grab groundwater samples. On 19 April 2000, Blaine Tech Inc. sampled existing
monitoring wells MW-2 through MW-9 under the supervision of Treadwell & Rollo personnel
and collected a duplicate sample from MW-2 and an equipment blank. Monitoring well
locations are given on Figure 2. Analytical results for groundwater are given in Tables 5, 6, and
7.
2.2.2 Area 11
On 18 and 19 April 2000, Spectrum drilling used their direct push rig to advance 11 soil borings
at the locations shown on Figure 3.
