t REPORT <br /> PRELEMINARY SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> ' at <br /> City of Stockton <br /> Former Western Pacific Railroad Property <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Prepared for Mr. Bob Sivell <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ' At the request of Mr. Bob Sivell of the City of Stockton (The City), RESNA Industries <br /> ustnes <br /> (RESNA), has conducted a Preliminary Subsurface Investigation at the above referenced site. <br /> t The objectives of this preliminary investigation were to: <br /> • Assess the extent of soils and groundwater that may have been im acted <br /> property; <br /> by past activities at theP <br /> • Locate potential sources of any observed impacts; <br /> • Evaluate regional groundwater quality in the Downtown Stockton area; <br /> • Determine the shallow groundwater flow direction and hydraulic gradient <br /> ' beneath the site; <br /> • Develop remedial alternatives or recommendations for further <br /> ' investigation, if necessary. <br /> The work performed for this investigation included conducting a computer search of Federal, <br /> State, and County data bases regarding facilities with environmental concerns within a one-half <br /> ' mile radius of the site; drilling 27 soil borings to a total depth of 5 feet below grade and <br /> collecting soil samples at 5 feet below grade from each boring; drilling 3 borings to a total depth <br /> of 38 feet and completing them as groundwater monitoring wells; developing the wells and <br /> collecting groundwater samples from the wells; laboratory analysis of soil and groundwater <br /> F041392-SAY <br />
