Designated concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as motor oil. <br /> total lead concentrations equaling and slightly exceeding T-MC levels, concentrations of <br /> total xylenes near the analytical detection limit, and elevated concentrations of copper, zinc <br /> and mercury (relative to typical metal concentrations in soil) were present in both portions <br /> of the parcel. However, the soil contamination on the eastern portion was shall ----r than <br /> on the western portion, and contaminants were detected only in the ground-wam. ..ample <br /> from the western portion. The lithologic logs for each boring are presented in Appendix II. <br /> In borings 131 and B2, designated concentrations of TPH as motor oil and very low levels of <br /> TPH as gasoline were detected in the 3-foot deep soil samples (Table 1). However, in the <br /> 5-foot sample from Sese borings, TPH as gasoline was not present and the concentration of <br /> TPH as motor oil was just above the detection limit. BTEX and TPH as diesel were not <br /> detected in any of the soil samples from borings B1 or B2. The concentration of ..al lead <br /> in the 3-foot sample from boring B2 (1100 mg/kg) slightly exceeded the TTLC (Tule 3). <br /> The concentrations of total lead (boring B1), zinc, and copper in the Moot samples <br /> borings B1 and B2 were elevated, relative to typical metal concentrations in soil (Bohn, e-, <br /> al., 1979). However, these metal concentrations generally decreased to typical levels in the <br /> 5-foot samples. <br /> One notable observation during drilling of boring B3 was a thin layer (approximately 6 <br /> inches) of fibrous charcoal material at a depth of four feet. The charcoal may identify an <br /> older ground surface that has since been covered with new fill material. TPH as motor oil <br /> and total xylenes were present just above detection limits in the 3-foot and 10-foot soil <br /> samples, respectively. TPH as diesel and as gasoline were not detected in any of the soil <br /> samples from boring B3. Concentrations of total lead, zinc, and copper were also elevated <br /> in the 3-foot sample frotn boring B3 but decreased to typical concentrations in all the <br />
