Petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel were detected in the sample from well MW-9 at 0.63 ppm, and
an unknown hydrocarbon in the 16-carbon range was detected in this sample at an estimated
concentration of 1.5 ppm. No other petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the samples.
Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the ground water grab sample from boring HB8.
General water quality parameters show an increase in mineral and dissolved solid content as distance
from the Channel increases. Concentrations are indicative of relatively fresh water. Total dissolved
solids (TDS) concentrations ranged from 160 to 470 ppm in ground water and was 86 ppm in the
Channel. Chloride concentrations ranged from 26 to 200 ppm in ground water and was 52 ppm in
the Channel. Nitrate concentrations ranged from 0.21 to 270 ppm in ground water and was 1.3 ppm
in the Channel.
067HPJE:P.030
11-21-95 4
