San Joaquin County Page 5 Phase II Assessment Work Plan
Public Health Services Tracy, California
Environmental Health Division 8 August 2000
filling to ground surface with a bentonite/neat cement grout, placed through a tremie pipe. The
direct push boring method to be used is anticipated to generate negligible amounts of waste, and
based on results of previous sampling at the adjacent parcel, the possible contaminants of concern
are not anticipated to render the material a regulated hazardous waste. Therefore, the soil sample
remnants and sampling equipment rinsate will be discharged to the ground at the boring
locations. However, if physical indications of contamination are noted in any of the materials
generated, they will be containerized, labeled as to contents and date, and staged at the site
pending determination of appropriate disposition.
Report Preparation
Following completion of the field work, WESTON will prepare a report for Home Depot
presenting the results of the Phase II investigation. The report will present a discussion of
sampling locations and methodologies, discussion of subsurface conditions observed, tabulated
summaries of analytical results, conclusions regarding environmental impacts, and
recommendations for any further work that might be warranted. The report will include the
analytical data report provided by the laboratory. A copy of the report will be forwarded to San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD).
Schedule
WESTON is planning to conduct the field sampling within one to two weeks of the date of this
Work Plan. The field work is expected to be completed in one day. Three day turnaround times
will be requested for laboratory analyses.
SCA: s:\whc\wp\sharedl\projects\homedepo\tracy\p2wkplan.doc
