7.0 LABORATORY ANALYTICAL TESTING
All soil samples obtained during the field exploration were delivered under Chain-of-Custody
documentation to Del Mar Analytical Laboratory, located in Colton, California. The laboratory is
certified by the State of California Department of Health Services, Environmental Laboratory
Accreditation Program to perform the testing reported herein.
Collected soil and groundwater samples were analyzed for volatile fuel hydrocarbons (VFHs) and
extractable fuel hydrocarbons (EFHs) in accordance with EPA Test Method 8015 (modified for
gasoline and diesel respectively), and by EPA Test Method 418.1 for total recoverable petroleum
hydrocarbons (TRPHs). Samples were also analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total
xylenes (BTEX) and methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) by EPA Test Method 8020. The
groundwater samples were evaluated for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) using
EPA Test Method 8260.
Selected soil samples were also analyzed for total recoverable oil and grease (TROG) in
accordance with EPA Test Method 413.1. This method can help determine if naturally occurring
organics in soils are a contributing factor to detected TRPH concentrations.
JN 4007-088-01
Ihg\=w07-06jwi\arc tac.doc
7-1
