Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation-Update-2 Page 7 of 18
Great Pacific Nut—Nut Processing Facility Expansion
3501 Lehman Road, Tracy, California
September 6, 2019 CTE Job#25-0710G
An inspection was scheduled and percolation testing was performed on April 9, 2019
within test-hole P-IX (located at the proposed leach field). The percolation rate obtained
from testing within P-IX was determined to be 480 minutes per inch (slower than the
minimum required for standard designs), therefore, San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Dept (SJCEHD) was notified of the failing test. Per our phone conversation with
SJCEHD it was indicated that since the test had failed, we could cancel the original
inspection time and reschedule the inspection for a new test at an alternate location,
Based on the failing test results and conversation with SJCEHD, the percolation test
inspection for P-IX was cancelled and the test hole was grout backfilled on April 9,
2019.
Based on our conversations with SJCEHD an alternate proposed leach field location was
planned to the east of the original location. A new percolation test hole, designated "P-
I", and, a groundwater test boring designated `B-GW" were drilled at the new leach field
location on April 24, 2019. The percolation test hole "P-1" was drilled to 38 inches begs
and the groundwater boring `B-GW" was drilled to 25.Of ft to assess groundwater level
in the vicinity of the proposed leach field. Upon completion of drilling a slotted drain
pipe and gravel were installed in the percolation test hole "P-1"to prevent caving and the
test hole was capped.
Testing of percolation test"P-1" had to be postponed several times owing to heavy rains,
problems with access due to soft/wet ground and conflicts in our scheduling. During the
time the test was postponed, the slotted drain pipe was left in place and the hole was
capped to protect it until testing occurred. Testing of percolation test hole "P-1" was
performed and inspected by SJCEHD on July 19, 2019.
SACRAMENTO • FREMONT • MODESTO
INSPECTION&TESTING•GEOTECHMCAL•ENVIRONMENTAL•CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING
