Soil Suitability and Nitrate Loading Evaluation-Update-2 Page 10 of 18 <br /> Great Pacific Nut—Nut Processing Facility Expansion <br /> 3501 Lehman Road, Tracy, California <br /> September 6, 2019 CTE Job#25-0710G <br /> Test locations are shown on Figure-2, attached. <br /> 7.1 Percolation Testing Procedure <br /> Upon completion of the percolation test hole drilling, loose material was removed and a <br /> 3-inch diameter open-ended slotted drain pipe was installed to control potential sidewall <br /> caving of the hole. Pre-saturation of the soils to be tested was accomplished by adding <br /> water to 12-inches above the base each test hole at least 24 hours preceding each test. <br /> After 24 hours (minimum) of pre-saturation a 2-inch column of water had "dissipated" <br /> from "P-1X" and 12-inches of water had dissipated from "P-1". During the pre- <br /> saturation period a six inch (minimum) column of water "dissipated" from P-2 and P-3 <br /> within 30 minutes or less. Percolation testing was then performed by adding or adjusting <br /> the water to 6± inches above the top of the 2 inches of gravel placed at the base of the test <br /> holes. <br /> Recordings were made of the change (drop) in water level at regular time intervals and <br /> water level was refilled after each interval. Specific details are included on the attached <br /> percolation test data sheets located in Appendix-A. <br /> 7.2 Percolation and Infiltration Rates <br /> The soil percolation rate is defined by the average time in minutes for a 1-inch column of <br /> water to "seep" into the soil. Percolation rate was calculated in minutes per inch (MPI) <br /> by dividing the time (in minutes) by the change (drop) in water level (in inches). No <br /> correction factor was used in the calculation for the 6-inch boring diameter. <br /> Percolation test "P-1X" achieved a steady percolation rate of 480 minutes/inch at 36- <br /> inches bgs, "P-2" achieved a steady percolation rate of 6.67 minutes/inch at 10.0 ft bgs, <br /> "P-3" achieved a steady percolation rate of 10.0 minutes/inch at 10.0 ft bgs, and "P-1" <br /> SACRAMENTO - FREMONT - MODESTO <br /> INSPECTION&TESTING-GEOTECEMCAL-ENVIRONMENTAL-CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING <br />
