WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS - GENERAL ORDER -6- <br /> U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS AND THE PORT OF STOCKTON <br /> STOCKTON DEEP WATER SHIP CHANNEL MAINTENANCE DREDGING ACTIVITIES <br /> MILE 4.4 TO MILE 41.0,CONTRA COSTA, SACRAMENTO&SAN JOAQUIN COUNTIES <br /> B. DISCHARGE PROHIBITIONS: <br /> 1. The direct discharge of wastes to surface waters or surface water drainage <br /> courses other than the return flow from the sedimentation basins is prohibited. <br /> 2. The discharge of dredge return water from hopper dredges to surface waters is <br /> prohibited. <br /> 3. The discharge of sanitary waste to sedimentation basins at DMD sites is <br /> prohibited. <br /> 4. The discharge of hazardous or designated waste to the sedimentation basins is <br /> prohibited. <br /> C. DISCHARGE SPECIFICATIONS: <br /> 1. The discharge of dredged materials shall only be to the sites identified in <br /> Finding No. 6 of this Order or to a DMD site with Waste Discharge <br /> Requirements approved for accepting dredge materials. <br /> 2. The discharge to DMD site's shall consist solely of inert waste as defined by <br /> Chapter 15, Division 3, Title 23, of the CCR. <br /> 3. The discharge of any materials generated during dredging operations shall not <br /> cause a nuisance or condition of pollution as defined by the California Water <br /> Code. <br /> 4. The discharge shall not cause the degradation of any water supply. <br /> 5. The discharge to the DMD site shall consist solely of sediment and water <br /> produced from dredging operations. <br /> 6. Appropriate soil erosion control measures shall be made and maintained to <br /> prevent discharge of sediment to surface waters or surface water drainage <br /> courses from disturbed areas at the DMD sites. <br />
