(Bureau Veritas), on behalf of Sansome Pacific
Properties and Walgreen Company, is pleased to present this Workplan for Limited Subsurface
Investigation ("Workplan") to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD) to perform
a limited subsurface investigation at the property located at 15 West Harding Way in Stockton, San
Joaquin County, California (subject property, Figure 1).
BACKGROUND
The subject property includes approximately 1.1-acres and is developed with a two-story building
occupied by a Walgreen store. The building is approximately 17,000 square feet in size and includes a
retail store area, warehouse, pharmacy, break rooms and restrooms. The remainder of the subject
property is developed with paved parking and landscaped areas. The planned future use of the subject
property is redeveloped as a Walgreen store.
The LSI scope of work was developed based on a review of the Phase I ESA that was conducted at the
subject property. The purpose of the LSI scope of work is to evaluate the following recognized
environmental conditions (RECs) that were identified in the Phase I ESA:
• Historical On-site Filling/Service Station (3 and 3 '/z West Harding Way/1501 North Center
Street)—According to Sanborn maps and city directories, a filling/service station was located on the
southeastern portion of the subject property from approximately 1930 to 1950. No records have
been identified regarding this facility; therefore, it is unknown whether the USTs were removed or
remain on-site. Furthermore, it is unknown whether additional hazardous substances (e.g. solvents,
petroleum products) or hydraulic lifts were located on site associated with the vehicle service
activities. The former on-site filling/service station and the potential presence of USTs located on the
subject property are RECs.
Bureau Veritas North America, Inc.
