pU Y{P
f
J p
Page 6
San Joaquin County
November 6, 2008 Project Number 99008-008321.03
Decontamination and Waste Containerization
Drilling equipment and down-hole sampling equipment will be either steam cleaned or washed in a
solution of non-phosphate detergent, double rinsed with tap water after each use, and allowed to dry.
Rinse water and soil cuttings will be containerized in 5-gallon buckets or Department of Transportation
(DOT) approved 55-gallon waste drums. Upon containerization, the wastes will be labeled with the
appropriate information and temporarily stored onsite for future disposal pending receipt of the analytical
results. Upon completion of sample collection, each borehole will be grouted in accordance with the
approved methods mandated by the local regulatory agency.
TASK 3: LABORATORY ANALYSES
Bureau Veritas proposes to collect a total of up to 2 soil, 6 grab-groundwater, and 6 soil vapor samples
for chemical analysis during this investigation. The collected samples are proposed to be analyzed using
one or more of the following USEPA Methods:
Soil Samples
• VOCs by Method 8260B—2 soil samples
• TPH Multiscan quantified by gasoline (TPH-g), diesel (TPH-d) and motor oil (TPH-mo) by Method
8015M—2 soil samples
Soil samples will be submitted for chemical analysis of based upon field PID headspace screening, soil
recovery and physical observations. Should no field evidence of soil contamination be encountered
during the collection of soil samples, Bureau Veritas proposes to submit the soil sample collected from
approximately ten feet bgs or the likely depth of a potential release. Soil samples will be analyzed on
standard laboratory turn around time.
Groundwater Samples
• VOCs by Method 8260B—6 grab-groundwater samples
• TPH Multiscan by Method 8015M—6 grab-groundwater samples
Soil Vapor Samples
• VOCs by Method TO-15—6 soil vapor samples
Collected soil vapor samples submitted for chemical analyses are proposed to be analyzed for the
parameters specified in Task 2 using a fixed laboratory.
TASK 4: REPORTING
Bureau Veritas will submit boring logs and analytical results, as required.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Donald Ashton at 925-426-2679.
SAES\PROJECTS\3-Chicago[99](15-16)\Wa1green Reports\99008-008321.01 StocktonTMorkplan.doc
