The water was generated during sampling of
monitoring wells at the SPTCo. French Camp site, located in the 7900 block
of Road in French Camp, California.
Thearlan
SPTCo. site was listed on the state superfund list in 1985. The
property was originally owned by the California Department of
Transportation and used to store asphalt and road oils in a subsurface,
concrete-lined vault. SPTCo. purchased the property in 1960.
The vault was removed last summer, and monitoring wells were installed in
February 1989. The water was generated during sampling of these wells.
The water was analyzed for those organic and inorganic chemical
constituents that have historically been associated with this project which
include:
1 . Halocarbons;
2. Phenols;
3. Polychlorinated Biphenyls;
4. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons;
5. Nitrate and Arsenic.
