Stephen Donell - 8 - 31 January 2014
8. A discussion of QA/QC failures and evaluation of potential sources of contamination
of both trip blanks, deviations from sample duplicate protocol, and surrogate failure
due to matrix interference.
9. Upload all reports and other relevant Site data to GeoTracker.
Further Assessment Needed
To thoroughly assess the extent of Site contamination, the Work Plan needs to be submitted
to accomplish the following tasks:
1. Re-sample groundwater to clarify the extent of Site contamination for TPH, VOCs,
1,2-DCP, and DBCP, nitrates, TDS, and chloride.
2. Complete the Catch Basin Surrey and define where the drains flow and sample the
outflow, if appropriate. Standing water in the basins should be sampled and
analyzed for site constituents. The basins need to be cleaned and the debris
characterized and disposed of at an appropriate facility.
3. Characterize and/or propose remediation for the four concrete patch areas with
documented contamination that were probable leaking underground tank sites.
4. Investigate the source of site-wide nitrate contamination, including the unpaved
areas around the perimeter.
5. Verify groundwater elevation and gradient.
6. Propose sample locations to establish arsenic background concentrations.
Please submit the Work Plan for additional Site assessment by 21 March 2014.
