DE is used as a filter aide for filtration of bleach <br />prior to delivery to customer. Heat (oxidizes) & metals causes decomposition of bleach. Ni from caustic <br />salt pile. <br />-DE was analyzed for CAM 17 metals, TTLC, STLC, corrosively & ignitability. <br />Received copy of Lab report dated 08/08/12 of Spent DE -A & Spent DE -B and two different New DE <br />samples. <br />-Facility may become a Large Quantity HW generator b/c DE is hauled as HW. DE filter cake stored in 20 <br />yd cubic bin & hauled off by PSC. 000136250MWI shipped 101612 10 yd filter cake - 1st HW disposal of <br />DE. Unclear why the spike in Ni. Speculate more bleach is processed in filter cake. <br />-Caustic (hauled in from Henderson, NV) + Cl = bleach <br />-Facility produces approximately bleach concentration of 12%. Household bleach 2-3%. <br />-Secondary containment of the large tanks are pumped out into the evaporation pond. If any product is <br />found in rain water, it is recycled into production. <br />-Truck vehicle maintenance performed by outside contractor TechLease in Henderson, NV <br />ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br />THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT END'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE <br />Inspector.
