From 35 feet to 40 feet bsg, weakly cemented, very fine <br /> grained, gray-green, moist micaceous silty sand was encountered. From 45 feet to 60 feet bsg, <br /> orange-gray, green-gray, and red-brown micaceous silty sand was encountered. This material was <br /> moist,with grain size coarsening with depth from very fine-grained to medium-grained. At 65 feet <br /> bsg, orange-gray, clayey sand with grain sizes ranging from medium to coarse was encountered. <br /> To date,the lateral and vertical extents of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water <br /> have not been defined. The EHD has issued several letters of responsibility to past owners of the <br /> property; however,no investigation has been completed since the 1985 well installation. <br /> 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of the work includes the advancement of three pilot soil borings for the collection of soil <br /> samples and installation of ground water monitoring wells. The scope of work will include the <br /> following tasks: <br /> • Permitting and pre-field work activities; <br /> • Pilot drilling and soil sample collection; <br /> • Monitoring well installation and development; <br /> • Laboratory analysis of soil samples; <br /> • Ground water sampling and analysis; and <br /> • Preparation of a report of findings. <br /> 3.1. PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site assessment permits will be obtained from the SJCEHD.In addition,a site health and <br /> safety plan will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual <br /> for Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to <br /> mobilization, the proposed well locations will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained <br /> through Underground Service Alert. <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
