communication in error, please immediately notifiy the sender. Please also remove this message from your hard drive, diskette, and any
other storage device.
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2007 3:06 PM
To: Mari Gilmore
Subject: RE: TAOC Tracy Gravel Pits
Like an unpaid parking ticket, TAOC is back, again.
Oh well...life of a regulator.
You are correct. NO SJCEHD permit is required for trenching/sample taking from backhoes, etc.
You probably remember, but I should take this opportunity to remind you that our permits are issued to
the C-57 driller(not consultants), per work plan, per parcel (onsite vs City row, or private
landowner/adjacent parcel, etc). Installations are $89 per application. In addition, I checked your account
balance and it's zero. That's good. I don't issue permits on outstanding accounts.
For your convenience, I've attached our TWO PAGED permit. Page two is for the C-57 mostly, and now
it only really provides the driller with a place to sign and authorize YOUR signature on PAGE ONE if you
sign it on his behalf. The CA contractor's license and Workers Comp info is available on the internet, so
NO need to have that filled out, I check it before I issue.
I recommend separate checks just in case one application is ready and the City of Tracy isn't. On one
check for both, if I can't issue both, I can't issue one. But if it's easier for one check, then send one. I'll
wait till ALL the City info is on my desk before I issue.
From: Mari Gilmore [mailto:mgilmore@geomatrix.com]
Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2007 2:06 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: Gary Foote
Subject: TAOC Tracy Gravel Pits
Hello Mike,
I just left you a voicemail, but I also wanted to follow up with an email since I didn't catch you at
your desk.
I am writing regarding the Gravel Pits site out in Tracy (address is 26805 South MacArthur Blvd in
Tracy, although the site lies just west of MacArthur Blvd on Valpico Rd). We have an approved
workplan from the Water Board to do a test trench investigation and 9 CPT borings out at the
site. You were cc'd on the workplan and approval letter initially, but I've attached the pdf versions
of these documents to this email for reference. I am working on the City of Tracy encroachment
permit and the San Joaquin County EHD boring permit applications for the 9 CPT borings that we
plan to advance onsite and just north of the site. My understanding is that the planned test
trenches (about 100 test trenches to be advanced with an excavator or backhoe to 10-15 feet for
soil samples) do not require a San Joaquin County permit. Could you please confirm this, or let
me know if I am mistaken? We plan to begin the test trench field work next month, on June 4th
The CPT work is not yet scheduled, and will depend on the timing of permit approval.
Thank you,
Mari
5/31/2007
