Description of the Facility <br /> Gordon Research Company is a surplus/salvage operation which buys <br /> government surplus materials and resells the material. The col»pany <br /> is operated out of a residential home and the bovt surplus materials <br /> are stored on the residential property. Observations <br /> The chemicals were stored in a jumbled mass on the property. some <br /> were stored in an old barn on the property, others were stored in <br /> the open. The chemicals were not separated according to classes. <br /> Flammables were stored in grassy areas mixed in with drums Of <br /> organics. hJany of the drums did not have labels or were improvario <br /> perlyus <br /> labeled. Some of the drums appeared to be leaking. Many of the <br /> drums were making popping sounds as if they were expanding or con- <br /> tracting.
