DISPOSAL PLAN
On Department approval I plan to sell all the chemicals I have except
for the few I need for repairing, refurbishing equipment I have for sale,
for making my own soap and cleaner, for simple experimenting, and a few
conteiners of oils and greases .for my farmers. I will move out 90o of
my present inventory and maintain it as such.
As to compressed gas cylinders I plan to sell them to dealers. CFR 49
(with exceptions) says they may be hauled on owner's truck to licensed
dealers of the cylinders and gases involved and need no special handling
as long as they are "commercially" empty. Commercially empty was defined
as having less than 40 PSI of residue of gas the cylinder was labeled for.
Federal laws require the dealers to check, purge and test them before use.
A call to any gas dealer will confirm they want the cylinders with
positive pressure. In the case of oxygen, for one, it is dangerous to be
at atmospheric pressure, as a change of barometric pressure could render
a negative pressure. Thus when the valve is opened, small combustible
particles of foreign matter could be sucked in. Oxidizers and combustibles
don't mix.
In the disposition of all items henceforth I will maintain an accurate
set of records so that inventory and items sold will balance.
I will dispose of hazardous waste per department's instructions. I am,
incidentally, .also going to clear out the bulk of the non-hazardous hard-
ware and non-descript material on the property. Henceforth I am planning
to operate at half speed. I do this work because I like it. Henceforth
I will operate at a pace:,I like. I haven't been fishing in many years.
