Sampling Protocol
Page 2
laboratory samples did not have head space and were immediately sealed in their
liners using aluminum foil lined plastic caps. The remaining sample was removed
from it's liner to be used as an aide to the on-site geologist in logging the material
at that depth.
Soil samples collected for analysis were analyzed using EPA method 3550/8015 for
— total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons - Kerosene, :GPA method 8020 for
BTX&E compounds and EPA method GCPID 5030 for Gasoline. Analysis were
conducted by Geomonitor Inc., a State certified laboratory in Hesperia, Califomia.
Groundwater Sampling
All sampling equipment including the hydropump apparatus and cables used by
sampling personnel was disassembled and steam cleaned prior to commencement of
&ampling. These procedures were also followed between each boring. De-toni.aer
or organic-free water was introduced into the hydropump as a final stage of
cleaning.
The groundwater samples were analyzed or extracted within fourteen (14) days
according to their EPA methods. Water samples collected for analysis were
analyzed by El'A method GC>"ID/5030 for Gasoline, EPA method GC 3510 for
total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons - Kerosene, and EPA methods 601 & 502
for purgeable halocarbons & aromatics.
