2-8
2 5 SURVEY OF SOIL BORINGS AND MONITORING WELLS
Remcor subcontracted a Cahfornia land surveyor
' surve or (Schack & Company, Inc of Tracy,
Cah-
fornxa) to complete a survey of the site to locate each of the soil borings and monitoring
wells Each soil boring and monitoring well was located horizontally and vertically and tied
to a local city of Tracy, Cahfonna benchmark Data collected during this survey were used
to complete the well construction diagrams and produce a summary of well construction
details (Table 2)
2 6 GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Ground water sampling was conducted during the unman and supplemental portions of the
Phase II Investigation Monitoring wells installed during the initial Phase H Investigation
(MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) were sampled on August 10, 1994 The water supply well sys-
tem at the site was also sampled during the initial Phase II Investigation on August 3, 1994
During the supplemental Phase II Investigation each site monitoring well was sampled on
August 26, 1994 San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division was aware of the
schedule for the ground water sampling events but did not attend the samphng events
Table 3 summarizes the ground water sample collection and analyses performed. The labo-
ratory reports for analyses of ground water samples are included as Appendix E
' Analytical methods for the parameters are also summarized m Table 3 MDLs vaned based
on the concentration level of constituents in the samples MDLs for each individual sample
and parameter are presented in the laboratory reports in Appendix E
Ground water levels (Table 4) were measured with an electronic water-level meter in each
monitoring well from a marked measuring point on top of the PVC casing prior to samphng
' activities Three to five well volumes were removed from each well during purging, and the
water was combined with water that was produced during well development After each
' successive well volume, the pH, specific conductance, and temperature were measured
Well purge sheets and ground water sample collection logs are presented in Appendix F
Monitoring wells were purged and sampled using an dedicated, laboratory-decontaminated
z9ozs
' "REALISTIC SOLUTIONS FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE PROBLEMS" AM:=:=
