The sample results along the southern boundary of the excavation indicate low or non-detectable
contaminant levels. Sidewall sample SW-5 indicated a TPH gasoline level of 560 mg/Kg,
•, sample SW-6 indicated a gasoline level of 130 mg/Kg. Sample SW-7 indicated non detectable
Ievels for all analyzed constituents.
' The eight bottom samples collected from the phase I excavation indicated non-detectable or very
g p
low gasoline and BTEX concentrations. Gasoline was detected at a level of 1.8 mg/Kg in bottom
sample 8-18', and the remaining seven samples indicated non detectable levels. Benzene was
detected in only two of the samples, 6-18.5' and 8-18', at levels of 110 µg/Kg and 24 Etg/Kg,
respectively.
The four soil samples collected from known or suspected contaminated material indicated levels
' higher than derived from previous soil boring data. Soil boring data obtained in August, 1994,
indicated a maximum gasoline concentration of 4,200 mg/Kg in SB-1 at a depth between 12 and
14 feet bgs. All four "pit" samples contained gasoline levels greater than 5,500 mg/Kg, with pit
sample 2-12' containing gasoline at 16,000 mg/Kg.
