Potholes PH-1 and PH-3 were designed to delineate the limits of the phase Il
excavation. One soil sample from each of these two potholes were redesignated as sidewall
samples prior to laboratory analysis and their results are discussed above. Potholes PH-2 and
PH-4 through PH-7 were installed in the field area to the northwest of the former UST location in
order to attempt to further define the limits of contamination. Analytical laboratory data are
presented in Table 3 below along with PID readings obtained at each sample location.
Laboratory data sheets and the chain of custody documents are included in Appendix A.
One soil sample was collected at PH-2 from a depth of 15' bgs. This sample indicatedg asoline
at a Ievel of 1,900 mg/Kg, and benzene below the laboratory detection limit. This pothole was
' not extended past the 15' depth due to unstable sidewalls.
Soil samples were collected at the depths of 12', 15' and 18' bgs from potholes PH-4 through
' PH-7. The samples collected from 12' bgs in PH-6 and PH-7 were not analyzed by the
laboratory since field monitoring indicated that no contamination was present at these depths.
Laboratory analyses indicated that each of the 18' samples contained non detectable levels for all
analyzed constituents.
•
' American Geological Services,Inc.
CA95DI✓-029
' 15
