Task 2 - Excavation of gasoline contaminated soils <br /> i <br /> • Properly abandon and destroy monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 in <br /> accordance with California water well standards. <br /> ' • Excavate contaminated soils from the vicinity of the former UST. <br /> • Screen soils from the excavation to guide excavation and separate contaminated soils from <br /> uncontaminated soils. <br /> • Monitor levels of gasoline and hazardous fuel constituents in the workspace. <br /> • Transport contaminated soils to temporary storage area. <br /> ' • Collect soil samples for analysis from the periphery of the completed excavation. <br /> • Collect composite soil samples for analysis from spoils piles <br /> * Transport soil samples to a California State certified laboratory for analysis of TPH-gasoline <br /> tand BTEX compounds. <br /> Task 3 - Reporting <br /> ' • <br /> Interpret all laboratory sample analyses and field data. <br /> • Prepare site maps, cross-sections and other documentation. <br /> ' • Prepare a report utilizing a California Registered Geologist in accordance with California <br /> State guidelines that presents all analytical data and interpretation, and recommendations for <br /> further work, as appropriate. <br /> 3.0 SITE WORK PLAN <br /> ' The following sections describe the proposed tasks to be conducted in the performance of this <br /> work plan. The scope of work is designed to meet the objectives for this phase of the project as <br /> outlined above. <br /> I <br /> 3.1 Planning and Permits <br /> ' After approval by Western Refrigerating and Cold Storage Company representatives, the work <br /> plan and HASP will be submitted to the PHSIEHD and the CRWQCB for their review and <br /> approval. Upon approval by the appropriate agencies, appropriate permits will be obtained. <br /> Notification will be made to Underground Service Alert (USA) to mark out all underground <br /> utilities in the vicinity of the excavation area. All overhead utilities or other obstructions will be <br /> ' noted and referred to the excavation crew prior to initiating the excavation. <br /> ' 3.2 Monitoring Well Abandonment <br /> Monitoring well MW-1 is located within the boundaries of the proposed soil excavation and will <br /> require abandonment prior to excavation. Monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 have been <br /> removed from the quarterly ground water sampling program and have been approved for <br /> American Geological Services, Inc. <br /> CA95DE-o29 <br /> 5 <br /> 1 <br />
