The test results are required to fully assess the
effectiveness of soil vapor extraction as a potential corrective action alternative for the petroleum
release on the site.
Two soil vapor extraction wells have been installed on the site. The scope of the work includes the
performance of an eight hour soil vapor extraction test. A portable internal combustion system will
be used to determine the subsurface permeability for vapor extraction, radius of influence of the
vapor extraction well and the initial hydrocarbon recovery rate.
Parameters will be measured at regular intervals throughout the test. One remediation well will be
used as the primary extraction well. Other remediation and selected ground water monitoring wells
will be used to observe the induced vacuum from the source well. Ground water depths, soil vacuum
and hydrocarbon concentration will be measured during the SVE test.
Four vapor samples will be collected from the extraction well during the test. Samples will be
collected at approximately two hour intervals. The samples will be collected in Tedlar bags and
stored in a cool container and transported under chain-of-custody to a State-certified laboratory for
analysis. Each vapor sample will be analyzed for TPH-g,TPH-d,BTE&X and MTBE in accordance
with the appropriate EPA methods.
The test has been scheduled for 12 May 1999, Wednesday from 8 am to 5 pm.
4005 North Wilson Way;Stockton,California 95205
` Telephone(209)467:1006 :FAX (209)467-1118
