Closure Summary Report <br />' MEL BOKIDES PETROLEUM <br /> 501 West Lodi Avenue, Lodi, California <br />' 1.0, INTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of Mr Nicholas Bokides of Mel Bokides Petroleum, hie , Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Closure Summary Report for 501 West Lodi <br /> Avenue (site), Lodi, California The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and <br />' monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2 r <br /> The purpose of this report is to summarize site assessment and corrective action activities at the site <br /> to date,estimate the remaining amounts of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water, <br /> and provide justifications for a site closure request The report was prepared in accordance with <br /> guidelines established by the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary <br />' Investigations and Evaluation of Underground Storage Tank Sites (RWQCB, 1990) and the <br /> California Water Resources Control Board's California Underground Storage Tank Regulations <br /> (CWRCB, 1992) <br />, . 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at the northwest corner of the Lodi Avenue and Hutchins Street in Lodi,California <br /> ' at an elevation of approximately 45 feet above mean sea level, it is currently vacant and unpaved <br /> The site was formerly an Arco service station,which stored and distributed gasoline and diesel fuel <br /> for retail sale The site was operated by the Tide Water Associated Oil Company from 1949 to 1966, <br /> ' and by the Philips Petroleum Company in 1966 Between 1966 and 1985 the site occupants have not <br /> been determined MBP purchased the site in 1985 and operated it as a fuel service station until <br /> February 1998, when the underground storage tank(UST) system was removed <br /> 2 1 INITIAL SITE INVESTIGATIONS <br /> Information regarding initial investigations conducted at the site was obtained from the Clearwater <br /> Group, Inc (CGI)-prepared Preliminary Site Assessment Report, dated October 11, 1995 CGI <br /> ' installed two ground water monitoring wells(BMW-1 and BMW-2)at the site in July 1995,analysis <br /> of soil samples collected during well installation detected only low concentrations of methyl tertiary <br /> butyl ether(MTBE) Monitoring well MW-5 was installed by Geocon Environmental Consultants <br /> ' in November 1994 - - - - <br /> The on-site monitoring wells were sampled five times between 1995 and May 1998 The greatest <br /> concentration of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) and benzene, toluene, <br /> ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX compounds) were detected during the May 1998 quarterly <br /> r <br /> Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc <br /> 1 <br />
