Kellogg Garden Products ECOLOGIC Engineering
Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan KELG04-001
11/10/2004
KELLOGG GARDEN PRODUCTS
GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL
INSTALLATION WORK PLAN
BACKGROUND
This groundwater monitoring well installation workplan has been prepared as require by California Regional
Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region in their letter titled Request for Project Schedule,
Groundwater Monitoring Well, and Draft Revised Monitoring and Reporting Program, dated September 9,
2004. This work plan describes the groundwater monitoring well installation procedures at the Kellogg
Garden Products Company (Kellogg) facility, located in Lockeford, San Joaquin County for evaluation of
Kellogg's discharge with respect to the State Amidegradation Policy as stated in State Water Board Resolution
68-16 and to monitor compliance with the Groundwater Limitations in the facilities Waste Discharge
Requirements(WDRs).
This work plan proposes to install three new groundwater monitoring wells to replace wells MW-1 through
MW-3 for monitoring groundwater quality. These wells are being replaced due to the fact that they are
intermittently"dry"and/or yield low, inadequate, volumes of water for required laboratory analysis. Existing
monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 will be converted into piezometers (P-1 through P-3), for use in
assessing groundwater elevations/gradient (when water exists within the well(s)) at the facility, providing
additional information the hydrogeology underlying the site.
Site Location
The Kellogg facility is located at 12686 Locke Road in Lockeford California as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1: Site Location Ma
ello gGa er-Products
{
,
i w ckeford _
y
y
,=
,SLs'a
1
